About This ROM Hack

Pokémon Cloud White is an ambitious ROM hack of Pokémon FireRed (v1.0, 16MB) that extends the original Kanto storyline into a massive multi-region adventure. After completing the classic FireRed story, players can explore five regions—Kanto, Sevii Islands, Johto, Mangan, and Azur Archipelago—each with new locations, challenges, and unique Pokémon interactions.

The hack integrates modern mechanics, enhanced difficulty, and quality-of-life improvements while keeping FireRed’s nostalgic feel. With over 540 Pokémon spanning generations 1–6, Mega Evolutions, and custom storylines, Cloud White offers a true expanded Pokémon experience.

Story Overview

The game begins with the classic FireRed story in Kanto and the Sevii Islands but then expands dramatically. After completing these regions, players can continue to Johto, Mangan, and the Azur Archipelago. Each region features unique towns, new rivals, and additional evil teams. The storyline includes:

  • Immersive side stories in each new region, with some cultural elements (characters speaking French in Azur)
  • Non-linear progression that allows exploration across regions
  • PWT-style tournaments such as the Kolloseum
  • An additional storyline inspired by the film 7 Samurais
  • Countless anecdotes, quotes, and in-game Easter eggs to enhance immersion

Players encounter over 540 Pokémon, including all generations from 1–6, with all Pokémon catchable, many Mega Evolutions available, and updated sprites for trainers and Pokémon. The story blends classic Pokémon adventure with post-Kanto challenges and a fully open-world experience in the new regions.
