About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Kanlara Ultimate is the final and definitive version of the Pokémon Kanlara series, built on Pokémon FireRed (1.0). This version consolidates previous releases into a polished experience, featuring a fully original region, an expanded Pokédex spanning seven generations, modern gameplay mechanics, and a unique custom Pokémon system.Designed to feel like a complete standalone Pokémon title, Kanlara Ultimate blends traditional Pokémon structure with new mechanics such as EXP gain on capture, indoor running, and a brand-new Pokémon type. The game offers both a main storyline and optional post-game content, making it suitable for both casual players and completionists.
Story Overview
The story takes place in the Kanlara region, your birthplace. At the start of the game, you reunite with your childhood friend and rival before being summoned by Professor Woke, who reveals a growing threat in the region.Team Rocket has resurfaced and is actively expanding its influence across Kanlara. As you begin your journey as a Pokémon Trainer, your goals quickly expand beyond becoming stronger—you must also interfere with Team Rocket’s operations and prevent them from seizing control of the region.
As the story progresses, it becomes clear that Team Rocket’s ambitions are far greater than expected. The fate of Kanlara ultimately rests on your decisions, your strength as a trainer, and your ability to confront the organization in a final, decisive battle.

Demon Pokémon are special forms of existing Pokémon, similar in concept to regional forms. Upon evolution, these Pokémon gain the Demon type, improved base stats, and in some cases a new ability or exclusive moves. Demon Pokémon are intentionally harder to obtain and are not required to complete the main story. However, they are integrated into the game’s lore, and certain Trainers will use them in battle.
Tip: Fairy- and Steel-type Pokémon are effective counters against Demon Pokémon, as are Demon Pokémon of your own.
Can I interact with the Pikachu in Sena’s Grove?
Yes. After obtaining a Magnet (found in the Power Plant), return to Sena’s Grove and speak to the Pikachu again. It will initiate a battle. This is the only method to obtain Pikachu in the game, so make sure you are prepared to catch it.
I defeated Agatha—what should I do next?
After defeating Agatha, you must assist Zorya in Sena’s Grove. Travel south to the laboratory and complete the related event. Once finished, speak to the special NPC outside the lab, then head to Kanja Boulevard. On the bridge, you will encounter Misty. Defeat her in battle to receive the PokéFlute, which is required to access Solemn Road and reach Florina Town, home of the sixth Gym.
How do I access the upper floor of the Nahara Town Library?
The NPC blocking the staircase will leave after you complete the event at the Lab in Sena’s Grove. Once cleared, the upper floor becomes accessible.
What do I do with the Ancient Map / How do I obtain the second part of the Key?
Speak to the man wearing a green uniform in the Nahara Town Library. After hearing his story, he will ask you to retrieve the second part of a key. This item is dropped by wild Klefki, which can be found in the Lost Cemetery. The drop rate is low, so expect to battle or steal from several Klefki. Using moves like Thief or Covet is highly recommended.
How do I access the basement of the Haunted Mansion?
After completing the Pokémon League, a Scientist will appear at the entrance of The Endless Desert, located west of Kahara Town. Speak to him to receive an item that unlocks access to the Haunted Mansion’s basement level.
How do I reach the area north of The Endless Desert?
Visit the Trainer Tower on Kanja Boulevard and speak to the Magma-affiliated NPC. If you give her one Rare Candy (purchasable for 2222 coins at the Wanjara City Arcade Hall), she will reward you with the Go-Goggles, allowing access to the northern desert area.
How do I get to Rocket Island?
After defeating the Pokémon League, a Rocket Grunt will appear in Kanja Outskirts, sitting on a bench. Speak to him to gain access to Rocket Island. This is the only way to reach the area.
Where can I catch or evolve specific Pokémon?
Use your Pokédex whenever possible, as it provides encounter data. For evolution-related information, consult the Nahara Town Library. If information is unavailable in-game, community discussion threads may also help.
