About This ROM Hack
Pokémon Mega Power is a story-driven Pokémon Emerald ROM hack that introduces a completely original narrative, new regions, modern Pokémon mechanics, and an emphasis on Mega Evolution. Unlike many enhancement hacks, this project focuses heavily on storytelling, character development, and original lore, making it one of the more narrative-rich Pokémon GBA ROM hacks.
The game features a fully custom overworld, multiple regions to explore, redesigned gyms, updated battle visuals, and a wide Pokémon roster spanning multiple generations.
Story Overview
The story takes place in the Ivara Region, where a brilliant scientist named Neil or Tyra (depending on player choice) is attempting to create a powerful Pokémon—Mewtwo. Although the experiment succeeds, the scientist becomes obsessed with surpassing natural limits by creating a Pokémon capable of Mega Evolution without the need for traditional Mega Stones.
Lacking the funds to continue the research, the scientist is approached by Kasper, a wealthy businessman and the secretive leader of Team Delta, a mysterious organization operating within the region. Kasper offers financial support in exchange for cooperation, leaving the scientist trapped between ambition and morality.
As the story unfolds, the player becomes entangled in Team Delta’s plans, uncovering hidden motives, ethical dilemmas, and dangerous experiments that threaten the balance of the Pokémon world.
