You’re a young boy/girl in the Rhizo region, who is now of age to receive a starter Pokemon and start their journey. Throughout your journey, you meet various other trainers, like your Rival Richard and Friend Layla. As well as trainers that may not care about their Pokemon's well-being…
Overall the plot and setting of the game are pretty traditional. There are 8 gyms, an Elite Four, and a Champion. As well as an evil team who you must defeat, who’s made their own legendary Pokemon (the only Fakemon in the game). You experience all this through various different encounters and various different environments. With the help of your buds Layla, Prof. Oak, and sometimes Richard, you can take down Akuno and his evil cohorts, and the Rhizo Pokemon league!
In the post-game, you are able to catch any Legendary from Gen. 1 through 5. There are various ways you can access Legendary Pokemon. For example, beat a trainer from another region like May or find them in a cave at a certain time of day. Furthermore, you can meet Prof. Oak at the Battle frontier to further your training.
