Story
A millennium ago, the region of Exten was a unified landmass, and on its eastern edge lay the enigmatic Darkrai Ruins. These ancient ruins were shrouded in mystery and legend, having drawn countless explorers with their dark allure. However, none of these brave souls ever returned, and the ruins soon became a place of whispered tales and ominous warnings.
Fast forward 1000 years to the present day, and the once singular region of Exten has transformed into four distinct islands: Calco, Sento, Gamma, and Forte. The Darkrai Ruins now lie on Sento Island, their entrance tightly sealed by an impenetrable barrier. Local lore suggests that this seal will remain unbroken until a "Hero" arrives at the ruins, a figure destined to unlock the ancient mysteries hidden within.
You are the son of a renowned Berry Researcher. One day, you return home with a remarkable find: a Berry that is over a thousand years old. This ancient Berry could very well be one of the artifacts taken by the explorers who ventured into the foreboding depths of the Darkrai Ruins long ago. The ruins’ ominous name stems from a fateful event a thousand years prior, when Darkrai, the mythical Pokémon of nightmares, was rumored to have appeared atop the ruins. The sighting caused a sensation among the onlookers, only for Darkrai to vanish without a trace, leaving behind a legacy of intrigue and speculation.
Your journey begins with a quest to unravel the legend of the Darkrai Ruins. You will explore the four diverse islands of the Exten region, each with its own unique challenges and mysteries. Along the way, you will confront the Elite Four and strive to become the new champion of Exten. The path ahead is fraught with danger and discovery as you seek to uncover the truth behind the ruins and their elusive guardian.
