Story
Pokémon Soul Crystal is a partial modification of the original game preserving its essence. Pokémon that only evolved by trade now evolve by level. Attacks such as fire, bug, and flying type were boosted. Other attacks were updated to later generations. Priority attacks are now stronger. Totally obsolete Pokémon now learn new attacks from later generations. All Pokémon can be caught in the wild. Evolution stones and important machines (TM) can be bought in the markets. The Pokémon League is now stronger. No side effects from later generations were added. The type (Special or Physical) is maintained in the attacks.
